The Cases module is the central place for tracking and managing individual events throughout their lifecycle. Appropriate stakeholders will be assigned the “Cases” module by their organization.
Opening Cases View
Users with access can click on the tile circled in red on the left-hand side to access the Cases view.
Cases View walkthrough
A: Case Views
CM Queue: The default case management (CM) queue, displays all the available open cases (both draft and submitted) in the organization, as determined by the user’s access/permissions.
My Facilities: Displays only cases submitted for the user’s assigned facility/facilities.
My Teams: Displays only cases assigned to the teams to which the user is assigned.
My Cases: Displays only cases to which the user is assigned.
Linked Events: Displays cases that are linked from/to another facility. E.g., a care home and a pharmacy OR a pharmacy and a central fill pharmacy. Users will also receive an email notification when an event is linked from another facility.
Misrecorded Events: Displays only events that have been misrecorded. They can be re-opened from this view and edited if appropriate.
Anonymous Cases: Displays all cases submitted anonymously. Certain organizations may not have this feature enabled.
All Closed: Displays all closed cases.
B: Case Filters. Users can filter and search events.
C: Multi-select checkboxes and bulk management options. These options allow users to bulk assign, close or move the event stage for multiple cases (selected by clicking their respective checkbox) at the same time.
D: Event ID. By clicking on the Event ID, users can see the details of the event and post event analysis, explained further under “3. Event Summary Page”.
E: Risk matrix score indicator. This feature allows users to visually see risk levels by colour code and filter cases based on severity. (See Risk matrix under Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) tools for more details.)
F: Case badges. This feature allows users to visually filter cases based on the characteristics of the post event analysis, such as it being in draft or overdue, containing outstanding actions, or associated learning points.

Close event. Cases should be closed when the post event analysis is completed and all relevant actions are done. Cases must be closed for their data to be shared with regional or national data bases. Cases can be re-opened if needed.
Assign the case to a team or a colleague.
Move the event to a different stage. E.g. investigation, undergoing review, pending safety meeting, with legal department
Misrecord an event. e.g. an event may be a duplicate. The event is not deleted but removed from the data records and stored in “Misrecorded Events”.
